Rustam Minnikhanov: Belarus is Tatarstan's strategic partner

On September 7, in the afternoon, during his working visit to Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation.

Accompanied by Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko, Minnikhanov looked around the historic embassy building. The mansion is located in the centre of Moscow on Maroseika Street and has a rich history. Tatarstan President was also shown new premises of the diplomatic mission and the cultural centre of Belarus in Moscow.

After their tour around the embassy Minnikhanov and Petrishenko talked to journalists. Tatarstan President stressed that Belarus is Tatarstan's strategic partner. He noted the need to expand the range and volume of trade with Belarusian partners. To date, the bilateral trade turnover reaches 760.7 million US dollars, he said.

In his turn, Petrishenko noted the high level of cooperation between Belarus and Tatarstan, being developed as part of Russia-Belarus relations. He said that the newly created working group on cooperation between the parties plays a special role in these issues.
