Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan is always open for cooperation with Singapore’s companies

On October 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held working meetings with Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development of Singapore Koh Poh Koon and Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

Bilateral meetings in an expanded format continued during the Tatarstan-Singapore Round Table: Perspectives of Cooperation organized for representatives of government and business of Singapore. Opening the business forum, Minnikhanov assured that Tatarstan is interested in developing business cooperation with Singapore and is open to investors. "The republic is ready to render overall support during implementation of joint projects. We will be glad to see you in our republic not only for business purposes, but are also ready to receive Singaporeans as tourists. We also have a lot of interesting things to see. For example, Kazan together with the whole Russia will host matches of the FIFA World Cup in 2018,” he noted.

During the meeting Minister of Information and Communications of the republic Roman Shaikhutdinov and Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina briefed about the development of the communications industry and the implementation of investment projects in Tatarstan. Representatives of local business made presentations of Singaporean companies interested in developing cooperation with Russian regions. The round table was attended by local companies working in the field of education, construction of infrastructure facilities, food industry, production of cosmetics and services in the oil and gas sector and consulting.
