28 December 2017, Thursday

On December 28, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the regional department of the Pension Fund of Russia to sum up the results of 2017 and set tasks for 2018.

Making a report at the meeting, Head of the regional department of the Pension Fund of Russia Eduard Vafin said that in 2017 insurance pensions of about 800,000 retirees were increased by 5.8 per cent to make 13,200 roubles.

For 11 months of the current year, the Pension Fund has issued 19,000 certificates. In general, 247,000 Tatarstan families have submittied applications to receive a maternity capital since the programme was launched (more than 243,000 certificates have been issued). Vafin reminded that in 2017 a maternal capital amount to 453,026 roubles. About 70 billion roubles have been paid since the programme started, he added.

Pesoshin noted that in 2017 the regional branch of the Russian Pension Fund fulfilled its obligations in full. "In 2017, you worked intensively on a number of areas, systematically solving current tasks and laying the groundwork for the future. Tatarstan department of the Pension Fund of Russia is the country’s leader in terms of efficiency and quality of services provided,” he said.

“The Pension Fund is actively applying information technologies to meet modern approaches and requirements. Almost all the services from informing citizens about their pension rights to awarding pensions and social benefits can now be obtained without leaving home through a single portal of public services. I think that all citizens of pre-retirement age, including the unemployed, should be able to receive pension fund services electronically,” Pesoshin concluded.

At the end of the meeting, Pesoshin handed in state awards of the republic to the most distinguished employees of the department.
