Aide to Tatarstan President Natalia Fishman-Bekmambetova: Kazan parks have earned about 19 million roubles since the beginning of 2019, which is twice as much as in 2018

On October 15, speaking at a briefing at the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, Aide to Tatarstan President Natalia Fishman-Bekmambetova reported that the World Urban Park Congress, which will be held on October 18-20, 2019 at the Kazan Expo in Kazan, will bring together about 120 expert speakers and more than 1,000 guests from around the world.

Earlier, the media reported that the congress will discuss the development of parks and cities and write a guide for managing parks in Russia. The geography of participants covers Australia and New Zealand, the USA, Africa, Europe and the CIS countries. Outstanding architects are planning to join the congress, including Ken Smith, Tanya Muller, Gil Penalosa and others.

Fishman-Bekmambetova said that in 2019 the parks and squares of Kazan earned 19 million roubles, which is twice as much as in 2018 - then the figure was 8.9 million roubles.

“This year, I think, they will earn over 20 million roubles, and we understand that there are absolutely practical competencies related to managing these spaces, filling them with activity, and so on,” the speaker said.

She added that Tatarstan is ready to share its experience with other regions of Russia. “We can tell our neighbors and not only close neighbors from Russia much about how to manage public spaces without super-money,” Fishman-Bekmambetova said.
