Aleksey Pesoshin meets the staff of the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism

On September 19, in Kazan, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin had a meeting with the staff of the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Minister of Sports of Russia Oleg Matytsin, Acting Minister of Sports of Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Marat Bariev and other officials took part in the meeting held at the Academy.

Speaking at the meeting, Matytsin thanked the senior managers of the Academy for many years of fruitful cooperation. “You are one of the flagships of sports education,” he said, addressing the university staff. “Sustainable development and good relations in the team are important for us. It is important that you cooperate with Russian sports federations, and I hope you will continue this work," the Minister went on to say.

Matytsin nominated Rafis Burganov for the post of the rector of the university. He said that the previous rector of the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism Yusup Yakubov gets to a new job and thanked him for his fruitful work.

Yakubov worked as the rector of the Volga Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism for 10 years since June 2010.

Matytsin handed in the departmental award - the Medal of Peter Lesgaft  to Yakubov. Pesoshin handed in the state award of the Republic of Tatarstan - the medal “For Valorous Labor” to him.

Burganov will be Acting Rector of the Volga Region Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism untill all the relevant election procedures are carried out.
