Aleksey Pesoshin: The staff of the National Guard make a substantial contribution into ensuring safety of Tatarstan residents

On 17 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Deputy Commander of Private Security Service and Licensing Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation of Volga Federal District Pavel Degtyarev, the Chief Federal Inspector for Tatarstan Viktor Demidov and representatives of interacting structures took part in a meeting held by the Head of the Department of the National Guard of the Russian Federation  for Tatarstan Rustem Gimerov which summarized results of work of the department service and military work in 2023 and set forth main tasks for the coming period. 

Reporting about work done in 2023 the Deputy Head of the Department Aleksandr Yevtushenko told that the staff of the Special Forces units took part in more than 700 service and acting operations both in and outside Tatarstan and detained 147 people including 11 suspected in extremist and terrorist actions. He informed that 9 firearms, more than 260 units of various ammunition and about 12 explosives have been withdrawn from illegal circulation and explosive ordnance disposal specialists carried out about 180 tasks in finding, identification and disposal of hazardous objects, having found and disposed 106 of them.

Aleksandr Yevtushenko reported that in 2023 units of the non-departmental security forces provided protection of more than 15 500 various forms of property units and more than 34 000 accommodations and property of citizens.

The Licensing Service Center controls 430 private security enterprises and about 42 thousand firearms owners which have more than 74 thousand firearms and Aleksandr Yevtushenko informed that due to the control over arms circulation law enforcement more than 2 000 citizens and legal entities were brought to responsibility and 545 firearms and 1900 shells were withdrawn for violation of the firearms circulation rules. 

He also told about monitoring of work of private security agencies which provide security at educational institutions and fuel and energy complex facilities and the work of air drones and kite balloons operation department during service and military operations. 

Aleksandr Yevtushenko also informed about work of the speed boats department in providing public security on the Volga and Kama Rivers and said that more than 60 illegal fishing nets with the total length of 5.5 kilometer have been withdrawn.

Participants of the meeting highly appreciated facilitation of the republic administration of strengthening the physical facilities of the department including the new buildings of the licensing center and the non-departmental security. 

By the results of its work in 2023 the Department of the National Guard of the Russian Federation for Tatarstan again won the first place among territorial department of the Volga Federal District.

Speaking at the meeting, Aleksey Pesoshin emphasized that the main priority is ensuring population security and said: ”You are fulfilling your tasks under conditions of the special military operation and I would like to thank the personnel for providing the public law and safety during large mass events. You contribution and role are important for the prestige and prosperity of Tatarstan.”

He also spoke about importance of control over private security agencies and stated that today the Department has a powerful human force and technical capacity and has well equipped and mobile units.

Summarizing up, Aleksey Pesoshin also attracted attention of the participants of the meeting to important events to be held in the republic in 2024. 

In the end of the meeting the officers and staff of the territorial Department of the National Guard of the Russian Federation were handed in state and ministerial awards for their high achievements.
