At a briefing in Tatarstan Government House Aid to the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova tells about the Rebus Forum, plans of the Tom Sawyer Fest and a desire to start work in the center of Chelny

On 24 April, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and confined to the International Day of Historical Monuments and Sites held in the Government House of the republic, the Aid to the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova informed that in 2024 the Rebus Forum will be held on 14-15 November. She reminded that in the current year the forum will be named “Aglomerations: Experience, Opportunities. Challenges” and will be held with participation of China “as it will take place during the ROSTCI Forum.”

She also said that the inter-departmental commission on city-building issues in historic settlements celebrates its 10th birthday this year and told about plans of the Tom Sawyer Fest Festival in improvement works to be done in Kazan and Nizhniye Vyazovyye Settlement.

The Chief Architect of Zelenodolsk Damir Shakirov told journalists about the project of development of a historical block of Polukamushki in Zelenodolsk, which comprises 26 living houses of the former plant of the French Joint-Stock Society built in 1898-1900. Currently all the houses are under capital overhaul carried out by investors and will house the directorate of culture, art gallery and a library, he said.

The speakers also told journalists about project development of two sites outside Kazan, namely the Church of St Prince Aleksander Nevskiy in the Settlement of Big Meme in Kukmor region and a mosque built in 1742 in Asan-Elge Village.

Answering a question from journalists about the center of Naberezhnyye Chelny, Olesay Baltusova said: “I would like it to have more attention as the old center of Chelny needs care. On my side I am preparing proposals. Everything should be thought over and discussed with the Mayor of Naberezhnyye Chelny”.
