Members of the FIFA commission meet with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov during the visit to Kazan

The Kul Sharif Mosque and the Annunciation Cathedral were among the stops on the agenda of the members of the FIFA inspection commission who visited the Republic of Tatarstan on August 18.

After the tour of the Kazan Kremlin, the FIFA officials met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the Presidential Residence.

Today, over a short period of time we tried to show you what Kazan is; we also wanted you to see we are ready to host the football World Cup, Rustam Minnikhanov said at the meeting.

He also said Kazan receives significant support at the federal level.

Rustam Minnikhanov assured the members of the FIFA delegation that all the plans within the preparation of sporting venues will be implemented by as early as the end of the next year.

The FIFA delegation led by Chile Football Federation President Harold Mayne-Nicholls also includes Danny JORDAAN, the director general of the organizational committee of the World Cup 2010 in South Africa, Juergen Mueller, the FIFA event management chief, Wolfgang EICHLER, the FIFA media officer, and other officials.

Russian Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy Vitaly Mutko is accompanying the member of the FIFA inspection team.
