25 May 2017, Thursday

On May 25, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the Institute of fundamental medicine and biology at Kazan Federal University, where a presidium session of the Russian Presidential Council on economic modernization and innovative development of Russia was held the day before.

“For a few years the repair of schools older than 30 years has been carried out in Tatarstan. This programme is nearly finished. We have now started to repair preschool institutions and are planning to reconstruct about 150 educational facilities,” Medvedev said.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that major efforts are taken on the development of lyceums and resource centers in the republic. There are twenty modern resource centers and five more are opening this year.  Also, a large-scale programme on modernization of outpatient institutions started in 2017. It is planned to repair 197 health care facilities for two years.

The president continued that special attention is paid to the repair of roads, yard territories, and development of public spaces.

“Thirty programmes are being implemented in the republic. The GRP has increased by 4,2 per cent. We are sure that we will be able to fulfill all tasks,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
