Rustam Minnikhanov inspects the progress of field works in Zainsky municipal region

On June 28, during his working visit to Zainsky municipal region of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov inspected crops and got acquainted with a technology for growing winter wheat and barley and assessed the operation of machines for inter-row cultivation of sugar beet.

According to Head of Zainsky municipal region Razif Karimov, 2016 was a very good year for the regional agriculture. Speaking about the results achieved in 2016, he said that for the first time in history of Zainsk a total of 148,000 tonnes of grain crops and 500,000 tonnes of suger beet were harvested.

Karimov noted that investments in the region have made 5 billion roubles for the last two years, including more than one billion roubles allocated from the regional budget.

He reported that in three years money proceeds from one hectare of arable land have increased from 16,000 to 35,000 roubles.

Karimov added that gross agricultural production amounted to almost 9 billion roubles in the region in 2016. "We have set the the task to increase this figure up to 15 billion roubles in the next two years," he said.

In his turn Minnikhanov appreciated the progress of field works in Zainsky region.

As for today's visit to the region, Minnikhanov said that Agrosila Group is one of the agricultural investors and is the leader in the use of new technology.

"We have seen the latest developments and modern machinery, the use of crop protection products and formation of seeds stocks. Today, Agrosila Group is a leader in the use of technology. It is a kind of school to share best practices in plant growing," he said. "Today's meeting is like a seminar, an exchange of experience for investors. I believe that Agrosila Group is a leader not only in the republic, however there are few such serious innovative agricultural holdings in the country," Tatarstan President concluded.

Minnikhanov also stressed that "Zainsky region has showed very significant results recently."
