Russian Post invests 2 bln rubles in construction of Kazan logistics center

On January 29 at an extended session of Ministry of Information and Communication an Agreement on construction of Kazan postal logistics center near Kazan International airport was signed between Tatarstan Government and FSUE “Russian Post”.
The document was signed by Tatarstan Prime-Minister Ildar Khalikov and Director General of FSUE “Russian Post” Dmitry Strashnov.
The logistics center will handle both international and domestic mail. It will be equipped with mail automation equipment to sort and exchange mail as well as volume measurement and weighting systems and other devices. The sorting systems will be integrated with the post’s IT system.
Speaking with journalists, Dmitry Strashnov said that the postal logistics center is planned to be launched in a test mode at the end of the year. The center will be fully commissioned in 2015. According to Dmitry Strashnov, the center will process about 500 thousand items per 24 hours with 10-15 percent of them being international items. The value of investments by FSUE “Russian Post” into the project makes about 2 bln rubles.
By and large, 8 similar logistics postal centers are to be built in Russia.
On 29 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin attended a rugby game between Strela Ak-Bars (Kazan) and Lokomotiv-Penza teams held at the Mordovia Arena stadium in Saransk with participation of 7 102 spectators.
On 24 April, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and confined to the International Day of Historical Monuments and Sites held in the Government House of the republic, the Aid to the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova informed that in 2024 the Rebus Forum will be held on 14-15 November. She reminded that in the current year the forum will be named “Aglomerations: Experience, Opportunities. Challenges” and will be held with participation of China “as it will take place during the ROSTCI Forum.”
On 24 April Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov together with speakers and experts, investors, representatives of start-ups and venture funds, large corporations and development institutes took part in events of the “zero” day of the Russian Venture Forum dedicated to the topic of “Technological Entrepreneurship: the space of highest skills.
On 24 April Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Rustam Nigmatullin on behalf of the Government of the republic and the Director of the VOIN Center Igor Kazarezov signed an agreement on cooperation between the Government of the republic and the Center, which envisages interaction in issues of patriotic upbringing and military and sports training of youngsters.
