Rustam Minnikhanov at his meeting with Prime Minister of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich: Tatarstan always actively cooperates with German regions

On November 29, at his meeting with Prime Minister of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic has always actively cooperated with German regions notwithstanding all foreign political difficulties and continues developing trade and economic relations.

Opening the meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed the Prime Minister of Saxony in Kazan and thanked him for visit to Tatarstan at the head of business delegation.

Reminding about his recent visit to Saxony, Minnikhanov said that all meetings showed that the regions have a lot of opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation. He noted that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions in Russia and briefly presented socio-economic development of the republic focusing on major industries such as oil production, mechanical engineering, and IT.

The president continued that besides traditional trade and economic partnership, Tatarstan and Saxony need to develop cooperation in such areas as interparliamentary interaction, exhibition activity, and tourism.

Stanislaw Tillich thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for hospitality and stressed that the current visit is a good opportunity for developing cooperation between Tatarstan and Saxony.
