12 January 2017, Thursday

On January 12, at his meeting with Netherlands Ambassador to Russia Regina Veronika Maria Jones-Bos in Moscow, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is interested in developing bilateral cooperation with the Netherlands within the framework of Russia-Netherlands relations.

Despite the fact that last year the volume of foreign trade turnover decreased and amounted to about 2.5 billion US dollars, the Netherlands continues to be in the lead among foreign trade partners of the republic, Tatarstan President noted.

According to Minnikhanov, Tatarstan is successfully cooperating with Dutch companies in such areas as agriculture, health-care, engineering, petrochemistry, information and IT, banking and innovations, and other areas.

"We also would like to attract the Dutch business in the Alabuga and Innopolis special economic zones. I hope that companies from your country will be interested in these and other projects, being implemented in Tatarstan,” President of the republic said.

Then, Minnikhanov and Regina Jones-Bos discussed possibilities for further expansion of Tatarstan-Netherlands cooperation.

Aide to Tatarstan President Albert Nafigin, Minister of Economy of the republic Artem Zdunov and CEO of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina also took part in the meeting.
