Rustam Minnikhanov holds a number of meetings and talks during his working visit to London

On November 29, during his working visit to London, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a number of meetings. In particular, he had a meeting with a member of the British Parliament Lord Nazir Ahmed.

During the meeting, Lord Nazir Ahmed noted the dynamic development of Tatarstan as one of industrialized regions of Russia.

Minnikhanov said that it is very important that the leaders of the two countries support the extension of cooperation at the regional level. He expressed his hope that the international political climate will normalize.

Tatarstan President briefed about significant meetings during the working visit of Tatarstan delegation to London. Minnikhanov noted that the industrial and investment potential of the region was presented at the panel session of the Russian-British Business Forum, which has started in London today.

The leaders exchanged their views on topical issues including development of relations with the Islamic world, production of Halal products, popular in the world, study of world experience in Islamic banking.

Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the organization of Museum Affairs, engaged in the preservation of historical documents and household items by the example of the legendary Churchill War Rooms.

At the end of his working visit, Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with Minister of State for Digital of the UK Matt Hancock, who has been holding the post of the Minister since July 2016. As noted at the meeting, the UK Government has started the digital transformation.

Tatarstan President noted that the UK is an example of successful technological progress and a guide for the future growth to follow. In his turn, Minnikhanov briefed about the development of digital technologies in Tatarstan.

They also exchanged their views on e-government and e-services. In particular, a presentation of IT projects implemented in the republic, including e-health and e-education projects was made. Besides, a project for the development of the innovative city of Innopolis and the University of Innopolis, as well as the IT education in general was presented.
