Mintimer Shaimiev holds meeting on reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God

On February 21, State Counsellor of Tatarstan, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Revival Regional Foundation Mintimer Shaimiev held a meeting at the place of the reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God.

This is a new project, the implementation of which Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov imposed on the Revival Regional Foundation.

At the beginning of the meeting, State Counsellor of Tatarstan and Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan got acquainted with the process of reconstruction of the cathedral.

Director General of Evrostroiholding+ contractor organization Vladimir Kazilov gave them the tour of ready for interior works building of the cathedral.

Shaimiev and Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan were satisfied with pace and quality of work. They personally expressed their appreciation to the workers and builders for diligent work, which continued even in New Year’s vacation.

The meeting continued in the building of Kazan Virgin Monastery, where they considered the draft of improvement of the Cathedral of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God territory. The participants of the meeting also discussed concept of the design-project of the cathedral’s interiors, including the Cave temple. It was noted that the interior of the Catherdal must comply with historical documents.

Executive Director of Revival Foundation, Deputy Chairman of State Counsellor of the republic Tatyana Larionova said that Revival Foundation received a proposal from senior executives of Domostroy Company to implement the design-project of the Cathedrial’s interior free of charge as charity. Directorate General for the Investment and Construction of the Republic of Tatarstan concluded a contract with this organization.

Shaimiev thanked everyone who is taking part in this project.
