Aleksey Pesoshin opens Bell Ringing Festival in Alekseevsky

On June 2, during his working visit to Alekseevsky region of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin took part in the opening of the 16th All-Russian Bell Ringing Festival "Alekseevsky Chimes-2018".

This year, the festival is dedicated to the memory of the Romanov royal family, shot in 1918, and the tenth anniversary of the consecration of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Alekseevsky.

In his welcoming speech, the Prime Minister of the republic congratulated the audience on the opening of the bell ringing festival, calling it "a remarkable, genuinely national holiday".

“This is another unique venue for intercultural dialogue, contributing to the preservation of peace between nations and the revival of Orthodox traditions of bell-ringing. The festival "Alekseevsky Chimes" gained All-Russian fame. Confirmation of this is the participants who came here from different parts of our country and from abroad. I believe that today's holiday will provide good mood, wellbeing and energy,” Pesoshin added.

Then the gala concert of the festival began. This year, bell ringers from different cities of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine as well as folk and dance groups, artists of sacred music and Cossack songs came to Tatarstan. 

The Fair of Folk Crafts “City of Masters” and the project "Cossack Sloboda" with the participation of historical reconstruction clubs were of interest to the guests.

The festival will last until June 3.
