Tatarstan Minister of Economy: In the current economic environment, it is important to take advantage of training and retraining programmes

On May 22, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic, with participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic, Tatarstan Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov said that trends in indicators in the labor market are characterized as relatively stable. The unemployment rate is on average 2.3 percent in the republic (4.2 per cent on average in Russia).

Shagiakhmetov also said that the situation in the food market of the republic is stable.

He continued that in the current economic conditions it is important to use the opportunities of training and retraining programmes of personnel in the republic. This will help to correct the existing imbalance in the professional and qualification composition of vacancies and unemployed citizens, in the in part-time and idle mode. Under the federal project «Employment Promotion» of the national project «Demography» in 2022, training of certain categories of citizens is organized - including under the order of a specific employer for guaranteed employment. The Minister informed about measures to support and maintain employment.

Speaking about soft loans, Shagiakhmetov said: for a week on previously submitted applications for soft loans 3 billion roubles were issued to the backbone enterprises of industry and agro-industrial complex, 4 applications were submitted for the amount of 8,2 billion roubles, including one application for a new programme of preferential lending to systemically important organizations of the transport complex.

The Minister gave forecast data for the Russian Federation for 2023 and for the planned period 2024 and 2025 - the expected decline in fixed investment will be 19.4 per cent. Thus, for the implementation of investment projects, entrepreneurs of Tatarstan have the opportunity to purchase imported products or similar from Russian suppliers through the Regional marketing centre (RMC). Line ministries and municipalities need to strengthen their efforts to inform on the possibilities of purchasing products through the RMC, he said.
