Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade: The Tatarstan foreign trade turnover has grown by 14 per cent up to 9.6bn dollars

On 8 November, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic held with participation of the Director General of the Tatneftekhiminvest holding Rafinat Yarullin, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko informed that in the first six months of the current year the foreign trade turnover of the republic has grown by 14 per cent compared to the same period last year and reached 9.6bn dollars.

The Minister underlined that the republic is the leading region in the export volumes ranking in Russia and informed that oil production comprises 25.1% in the industry of the republic, chemistry and petrochemicals -16.4 per cent, oil refinery -  21.5%, machine-building- 21%, power industry 3.9%  and 12.1 is taken by other branches of industry.

He said that because of difficulties with logistics and breaks in foreign spare parts deliveries, representative offices of the republic in the CIS countries, the Central Asia and the Middle East are looking for possible partners for organizing logistics chains. As of October 2022 the republic has agreements with 80 Russian entities, the Minister said. 

Oleg Korobchenko stated that despite partial mobilization, defense industry enterprises in the republic have not stopped their work and in some spheres the contract volumes have grown dozens of times.

The Chairman of the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce Shamil Ageev, who also took part in the briefing, told about business missions to CIS countries and Russian regions organized by the Chamber in the current year and the Russian-Belarus business forum held with the participation of the Belarus Prime Minister and Tatarstan President.

He also informed about work with compellations coming from residents and entrepreneurs of the republic and meetings with foreign representatives. 

Ageev said that currently the Chamber unites 2 470 entrepreneurs, representing SMEs and large business and has 25 committees comprising representatives of business, state power bodies, unions and scientific community.
