Rustam Minnikhanov: We need to create several economic zones that will give results in Russia

On June 10, after meetings at Tatarstan Government House held by First Deputy Chairman of Russian Government Igor Shuvalov, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said in his interview that the decision about stopping the project of establishing new special economic zones is right and will not influence Tatarstan.

“Creation of economic zones has not given the expected results. I think we need to create several effective economic zones in the country,” Minnikhanov said. He mentioned Alabuga SEZ in Yelabuga region that has 48 residents, 22 modern enterprises and 100 bln rubles of private foreign investments. As for Innopolis economic zone, the first launching stage has been finished.
