Rustam Minnikhanov highly estimated work of Muslim Spiritual Board of the Republic of Tatarstan on consolidation of Muslim Ummah

On January 14, after his meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, mufti of the Republic of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin said that work on consolidation of Muslim Ummah and for the benefit of Muslims of the republic will be continued.

Kamil hazrat told journalists later on that work of Muslim Spiritual Board of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2014 and plans for the nearest future were discussed at the meeting.

“We started 2015 with big events. A unique project – twenty-four-hour recitation of Koran in Kol Sharif Mosque was launched on January 2. A big holiday, Mawlid, - the birthday of the Prophet Muḥammad, was held in Bolgar on January 3. Also, a children’s home for handicapped orphans opened in Tyulyachinsky region on January 4.

Kamil hazrat noted that for the first time in Russia the educational standard was developed for madrasa. With the support of Muslim Spiritual Board of the Republic of Tatarstan libraries were renovated at correctional facilities, and the center for helping alcohol and drug addicts and the center for citizens released from prison are planned to open soon.

Answering questions of journalists, mufti said that Rustam Minnikhanov highly estimated work of Muslim Spiritual Board of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2014.
Rector of Russian Islamic Institute Rafik Mukhametshin, who took part in the meeting, told about implementation of the new educational standard. He noted that in 2015 Muslims should show themselves through community service.

Chief of Staff of Tatarstan President’s Administrative Office Andrey Kuzmin, in his turn, reminded participants of the meeting that issues of inter-ethnic relations are priority in work of Tatarstan President.

“Rustam Minnikhanov meets with representatives of different confessions on regular basis. In the nearest time he is meeting Orthodox leaders. Also, the new building of Almetievsk diocesan administration will open soon,” Kuzmin said.
